Shihan Humphrey Skosana started Goju Ryu Karate in 1979 under Sensei Sydney Zwane and Cecil Mokoena and later he continued his training and attended seminars in
IKGA (Goju-Kai) under the following instructors, Sensei Jan Nienaber, Shihan Pikkas Windell, Shihan Peter Brandon, Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi,
Seiwa-Kai under Shihan Rudi Strydom, Ben Mare, Leo Lipinski and Hanshi Shuji Tasaki and
Kuyu-kai under Saiko-Shihan Osamu Hirano and Shihan Seiji Teramura.
